    When Kelsey figures out that Diane and I are leaving the house at the same time, he heaves a heavy sigh and does a slow to-the-gallows walk down the hall to the living room. There, he goes to the precise spot where his training crate was 14 years ago when he was a puppy, flops down on the floor with another heavy sigh, and resolutely will. not. look. at. us.
