We’ve been in a protected hollow in the storm smashing the northeast right now: a comparatively puny six or eight inches from last night was nearly melted away by afternoon.

The eye of the storm did seem visible, though – a break of real blue and some important-looking clouds were surrounded by the same dense steel grey that’s been accompanied by 50mph winds in the last week:

Gilly’s been digging the combination of relatively warm days and remaining snow – and you can’t beat the stomping goodness of slush and mud.

Hope you & yours are sheltered from the storm.
